Anthea was fortunate to have a big double page spread in The West last week and features with Channel 7 and 9 news Tuesday night.
She has been the talk of the town after raising some important issues and that road cyclists face and how unsafe they feel on the roads.
This ignited following a Sunday morning ride in Kalamunda when a passenger in a ute sprayed an industrial fluid in her face as the vehicle overtook her and her riding partner.
Here is an exert from the west’s article:
The random attack, which left her momentarily blinded and unable to breathe, could have had far worse consequences.
“I swerved towards the middle of the road and I was coughing. I was very lucky I wasn’t in a big group and there weren’t cars coming the other way,” Ms Stacey, 23, said.
Moments earlier, the driver of the ute sounded the horn and veered within centimetres of the pair.
“He swerved in close to me and sprayed. It shocked me, I couldn’t breathe,” she said.
Vision from another cyclist’s camera showed the passenger spraying several other cyclists as the ute drove up Mundaring Weir Road.
