Health is a family thing! We know that who we are, and how healthy we are is primarily determined by two things: our genetics and our environment. When searching for the reason behind our health problems, the answers are often found here! That is why our chiropractors take these two key factors into consideration when determining how your health problems may have started or developed.
We often forget that who we are affects how our body functions. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t change the way it functions. We recognise that our lifestyle and environment can also impact our genetics. But your health can be optimised no matter what!
At Up! Chiropractic we look at your posture and how it relates to neck pain, back pain, headache and so much more…
More? Because we are interested in the whole picture of your health.
When we check you, we complete a biomechanical analysis which incorporates functional testing of your nerves and muscles. We then (if clinically indicated) take postural x-rays of your spine, which helps us to correlate your body’s structure with its function - then we can have a better understanding of how to get your body working like it should!
-
Whether you are an elite athlete or more of a weekend warrior, you may benefit from chiropractic care. In fact, a clinical study once revealed that skeletal muscle contraction improved by 70% following chiropractic treatment!
We see many athletes who have been injured whilst training or competing in their chosen sport, due either to a significant trauma or a niggling issue. A significant number of our athlete patients simply come to see us to ensure that they are performing at their best all the time.
-
The saying goes, “posture is the window to our spine.” So much information can be gained from a single postural assessment about an individual’s lifestyle, habits and genetics!
More often than not, there are solutions that vary from ‘hands-on’ care, to simple strengthening exercises, or even adopting a more balanced lifestyle - each of these can help to correct our posture.
-
Could your work station do with a check-up too? We can arrange for one of our qualified doctors to visit to your workplace and carry out an ergonomic assessment of your work station to ensure that you are optimising your postural wellbeing throughout the whole day!
As the popularity of sit-stand work stations are on the rise, it is important for us to recognise that prolonged standing could be just as bad as prolonged sitting, in some instances. Our doctors can help you find the right balance!

Our state-of-the-art x-ray facility enables us to consistently take the best quality x-ray images in-house by our qualified chiropractors. X-ray imaging can assist our chiropractors in making a more accurate analysis of your condition. Each of our chiropractors have attained their radiology licence and have acquired years of experience in taking full spinal x-rays. The ability to take images in-house not only enables us to provide a faster turn-around for clinical analysis, but also allows our chiropractors to obtain images that are specific to chiropractic assessment. The result? A more involved and hands-on approach to assessing the health of your spine.

There is a saying that “we aren’t just what we eat, we are what we digest.” Knowing how to eat healthy is just the starting point. We also need to provide our bodies with the right balance of macro- and micro-nutrients to ensure that we are getting the most benefit from the food that we eat. In some cases, our dietary intake alone will not suffice. Our doctors can help you to understand your specific dietary requirements, and, how and when to supplement if needed.

Remedial massage is a complementary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or functionally impaired.
Problems with the muscles can result in painful trigger points or radiation of pain to other parts of the body. Remedial massage aims to pinpoint the origins of the pain, tackling both the cause of the problem and the symptoms.
-
Sports massage is a massage technique designed to improve athletic performance and prevent injuries.
-
Dry needling is a slightly more invasive muscle tissue treatment that is used to reduce pain, inactivate trigger points and help to restore muscle function. Dry needling is rarely used as a standalone procedure. Rather, it often forms part of a broader physical therapy approach incorporating other traditional physical therapy interventions.
